H. Dean Jacot

H. Dean Jacot has over 30 years of experience in the coal industry, including over 20 years in executive management positions.  Mr. Jacot’s business expertise includes the management of large surface mining operations, cost reduction programs, business development, strategic planning, management reorganizations, human resources, engineering, project management and construction, and feasibility studies. 

Mr. Jacot was responsible for 27-mtpy of coal production, primarily from large-scale surface lignite mines in Texas and North Dakota.  Mr. Jacot participated in the successful establishment and operation of coal mines to support long-term utility supply agreements.  He developed complex and comprehensive business plans designed to exploit extremely large coal reserves in ways that would assure a dependable and economical fuel supply.  He had responsibility for engineering, planning, operations development, and management of all of the company’s coal mines.  He was involved in the negotiations of several long-term coal sales agreements. 

Mr. Jacot has been the reviewer of several major due diligence reports and has served as an expert witness regarding mining practices.  Additionally, he has worked on several international projects.  He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Ohio University and attended the Harvard University Advanced Management Program.  He is a registered Professional Engineer.
