Donald P. Bellum has over 44 years of experience in the mineral industries, including 18 years in executive-level management. He has managed and directed coal, copper, gold, zinc, iron ore, industrial minerals and uranium operations. He has extensive mineral industries experience in the United States, Central and South America, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Europe and Mid-East.
Mr. Bellum’s business experience includes the management of surface and underground mine operations, marketing and sales, operations analysis, business development, acquisitions and divestitures, privatization, strategic planning, management reorganizations, human resources, exploration, financial evaluation, engineering, project management and construction, and feasibility studies.
Mr. Bellum was a Director of USMX, a publicly held US gold mining company, from 1991 to 1997, and in 1996 and 1997 he served as Chairman and CEO of USMX. Prior to joining Behre Dolbear in 1991, he served with Cyprus Minerals Company as Executive Vice President, managing the copper/moly, gold, lead, zinc, and iron ore divisions, and exploration and corporate development departments from 1989 to 1991, and as Executive Vice President for the coal, industrial mineral, lithium and iron ore divisions from 1987 to 1989. He served as President of Cyprus Coal Company from 1978 to 1987. Other work experience includes management positions of Vice Coal Operation for Tesoro Petroleum Company, Mine Manger for Kennecott Copper Corporation, and Chief Engineer for Utah International.
